He's practically in college

Photobucket

We decided it was probably about time that this little dude make some progress on his New Year's resolution: to cut out the diapers and start using the potty. So this morning we went cold turkey, hid all the diapers in the closet, and brought out the big boy pants. The guide we are using suggested that we throw all the extra diapers out in the trash, but I have a complex when it comes to throwing stuff out.

After some slight confusion on my part as to whether he should be standing or sitting (we settled on standing - reason 1,876 I'm glad I'm a girl), he took right to it and has only had 2 accidents today. It's only the first day so I'm pretty excited about that. And I have to admit that I got teary when he peed on the potty for the first time. Don't judge me for that please. How did he get old enough to be able to do that? These past three years have flown by.

I wanted to take a picture of him on the potty but then I remembered my dad showing the same picture of me to friends and relatives, so I showed some compassion. Plus, I already have tons of pictures where his sister has dressed him as Jasmine and her other favorite princesses. I can always torture him with those later.

Friday Photoshoot

It's been frigid in our area lately - we're talking in the teens. Not a fan.

I realized I have been slacking in the photography department lately. So the kids and I had a toddler photoshoot. While MJ played with magnets, I clicked away.

And not to be left out, here's bubba.

That last one is his signature look.

My Life

Hi there,
I'm Tess, a.k.a. Lumpy Gal. That's a cute nickname my hubby gave me when I was 8 months pregnant with our daughter. So sweet. We have two babies, MJ (4.5) and bubba (3). And bubba is just a nickname so don't hate. We also have a 100 lb. and growing puppy/pony hybrid, Layla. I went to law school and accumulated lots of student loan debt just to discover that all I ever wanted to be was a mom. That was an expensive discovery. I would love to work as an attorney. Someday. But right now I'm pretty content as a wife/mama/referee/dishwasher. And I like to cook too.

My two babies say and do a million and one cute things a day. I always intend to write their sweet babblings down so I don't ever forget them but I never quite get around to it. So my posts will be peppered with lots of quotes, pictures, and videos. I am also the queen of random thoughts so my musings of the day will also find their way here I'm sure.

Welcome to my little corner of the web.
